Kamen Rider Fourze 19 – Effin' Magnets, How Do They Work?

See title on top.

In this episode, Gentaro was gave Ryusei a shot in Switch development which at first, Kengo is fine with it until he learned that Ryusei is now calibrating the Magnet N and S Switches. Meanwhile, Hayami is being supervised by the Virgo Zodiarts, a member of the Horoscopes who is too close with Gamou.

The episode introduces the new opening sequence featuring Ryusei aka Kamen Rider Meteor. For starters, I love the addition content in the opening sequence; my only problem with it is that there are some scenes that don’t feel like Ryusei is part of the Kamen Rider Club. Oh well, it fits anyway. The episode reveals who is responsible with the creation of the Foodroid designs... it turns out that Yuki made all of those food designs for each Foodroid and even names them! Well that explains why we don't have school supplies as robot buddies even if it is the logical and obvious choice if Kengo is the one designing those robot buddies!

Now for the new Switches, I find the Hand Switch at first stupid, but after the revelation that it acts as an additional manipulator while Fourze is doing something else is actually a brilliant idea. Guess Kengo's father is not that mad after all. As for the Magnet Switch, I was not surprised with its initial effect. I mean, if a small magnet can attract a couple of nails and such, how about a human size magnet? The results are quite obvious; the Magnet Switches turned Fourze into an uncontrollable giant magnet as Kengo predicted it would be. This leads to the return of the Power Dizer! Too bad, that was his only appearance in this episode. I can understand the lack of Power Dizer in the previous episodes (Perseus turns stuff into stone, Lynx is Meteor's proper debut), but the Dizer only appeared just to separate two trucks being attracted by Fourze? Wow.

More on Magnet Switch, I just love the idea that they should create some sort of a limiter to control the level of magnetism the Switches has. What's more, it is also a good way to secretly sell toys since they decided to use a smart phone type of device not some fancy looking level or something! Speaking of the NS Magphone, it looks good. My only problem with it is that the Switches bulge out a bit, making the phone a bad disguise to hide the Switches.

The main focus in this episode is the relationship between Kengo and Gentaro. With Gentaro letting Ryusei do some stuff in the Club that is supposed to be Kengo's job, it hurt Kengo's pride as the one responsible in Fourze's Switches. What's more, the fact that Gentaro is not listening his advice in regards to the Magnet Switches also affected the friendship. In Gentaro's side, he just wants to see if Ryusei can do something for the club since all of them have their own distinctive jobs. There is nothing wrong with that except that Gen is not aware that he will hurt Kengo's pride.

More on Kengo in this episode, we also learned that he can do more than just calibrating Switches and act as Fourze's control tower, turns out that he is good in terms of physical training that he was able to help Rumi, a member of the track and field team improve her time in running. Ryusei in this episode surprisingly, acted like his good side is the same as his bad side. The fact that he acted as Fourze's coordinator rather than the rookie who barely knows about Switches is surprising. What's more is that I noticed his lack a bit of common sense. The fact that the name of the Switches Fourze is using is Magnet is enough to tell someone that it is dangerous to use it.

The Zodiarts in this arc is the Dragon Zodiarts, based from the Draco Constellation. To be honest, the Zodiarts doesn't looks like much of a dragon, but a very scalely lizard... which is also a dragon. Anyways, the fact that he easily beat Fourze even if he used two of his other States, namely the Elek and Fire States is one good reason why he is a hard enemy to beat. What surprised me in this episode is the lack of Switch changing action that we saw in the previous arc on how they deal with the Lynx Zodiarts. The big question is who the Dragon Zodiarts is and why is Hayami confident with it? Could it be Rumi since after she ran to "get some water" the Dragon Zodiarts appeared. Or Rumi could be just another red herring so that we will all be confused with the true identity of the Dragon Zodiarts?
